Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, Antler River Guardians from the Four Directions, and Thames River Clear Water Revival are hosting a naming ceremony for a First Nations canoe. The canoe was built by youth at Chippewas of the Thames First Nation.
The ceremony will be led by Wahsayzee Deleary of Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, and will take place on Thursday, July 28, at Sharon Creek Conservation Area (southeast of Delaware).
The speakers will include:
- Chief Leslee White-eye, Chippewas of the Thames First Nation
- Cheriene Vieira, Ministry of the Environment & Climate Change
- Mayor Matt Brown, City of London
- Murray Blackie, Chair, Upper Thames River Conservation Authority
